Senior QA Engineer
Join Inside Travel Group as our first dedicated QA Engineer and help shape how quality, testing and automation work across our business-critical platform.
Senior QA Engineer
The role:
We’re at an exciting point in our software development journey at Inside Travel Group.
Axum, our bespoke booking and operations platform, sits at the heart of how we sell and deliver exceptional travel experiences. Alongside Axum, we support several other internal systems that keep the business running every day.
We're currently modernising Axum from legacy technology into a modern web-based platform, whilst continuing to deliver changes and improvements to the business.
As we grow, we're looking to introduce our first dedicated QA role.
This is a foundational role where you'll help shape how quality works at Inside Travel Group:
Becoming the quality voice within the development team
Building testing and quality practices that scale with us
Introducing automation where it adds genuine value
Helping improve confidence in every release
Partnering closely with developers and business users to ensure we build the right things, the right way
You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact early, with the freedom to influence how we approach quality and the backing to do it properly.
Key responsibilities:
Act as a quality partner throughout the software delivery lifecycle
Participate in discovery, refinement and sprint planning activities
Carry out exploratory, functional and end-to-end testing across complex business processes
Support and guide User Acceptance Testing with business stakeholders
Build and evolve automated testing capabilities over time
Help integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines and delivery processes
Investigate defects and production issues alongside developers
Improve how bugs are reported, analysed and prevented
Contribute to release readiness, release notes and quality documentation
Help establish pragmatic, scalable QA practices as the business and systems evolve
What we are looking for from you:
You don't need to tick every box - we're more interested in how you think and approach problems.
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience working in a Software QA or Quality Engineering role
Is strong in exploratory testing and understanding complex user workflows
Has experience building, maintaining or extending automated tests
Enjoys working collaboratively with developers and business stakeholders
Can balance attention to detail with pragmatism and delivery focus
Is curious about how systems really work, not just whether tests pass
Is comfortable working in an evolving environment where they can shape the role
And importantly:
You enjoy ownership and autonomy
You're pragmatic - you improve quality without creating bureaucracy
You focus on real business outcomes, not just testing activity
You're happy switching between hands-on testing, investigation and improvement work
You enjoy building something from the ground up and influencing how a team thinks about quality
You don’t need to meet every requirement. If you’re motivated, passionate, and think you’d be a great fit, we would love to hear from you. As an equal opportunities employer, we're committed to making our recruitment process inclusive, accessible, and welcoming for everyone. If you require any adjustments or accommodations to support you during the recruitment process, please let us know.
What you get in return:
Annual discretionary performance (company related) bonus
25 days annual leave, rising by one day each year to a maximum of 28 days.
Day off on your birthday
Enhanced parental leave
Employer pension contribution
Employee Assistance Program
Volunteering leave
Designated learning and development time
